The dust jacket edges are jagged, especially at the spine ends - chipping, 1/4" tears, and rubbing. It is price clipped. The three other corners on the two flaps have have lightly trimmed - about 1/4 inch by 1 inch. There appears to be a pencil mark next to the "The" on the dust jacket front. The hardcover has rubbed and dented edges, especially at the top end. Light corner bumps. A crease can be seen on the attached front fly page. And on the back cover. The text pages are in good shape. They are clean with no odor of tobacco smoke. The binding is tight. A few of the pages have a tiny corner tip torn off. There is no writing or soiling. The pages are in much better shape than the dust jacket. In the text block top end you can see one water spot and two scuff spots. The scuffs have created minute dents on the page edges which they affect. The water spot has caused the colored ink to seep down about 1/32 of an inch. Barely noticeable. Despite all its flaws, this is a good solid copy of an uncommon book. ; 8vo
