From 1915, this is the first American edition of Jack London's last book, The Star Rover, published by Macmillan in October 1915 (the second printing of the first, same month as the first printing). An attractive copy of London's great astral projection and reincarnation novel. Per Sisson and Martens (p. 84) only 13,021 copies of the first edition were produced. An unusual topic for London as it deals with the out-of-body experiences of a prisoner tortured in a straight jacket. (BAL 11963). A man in prison has mysterious trancelike experiences. Blue cloth stamped in blue, white and gold. Illustrated. Frontispiece in colors. 329 pages, 8x5, almost no wear. A previous owner has tipped in a clipping that is a contemporary review of the book. Definitely a New York paper, but I am not sure which one. The anonymous reviewer comments that London "has hit upon a new idea in fiction, and has worked it out with patient, painstaking art, at the same time striking a blow on behalf of prison reform.
